Hood Warfare 2 Guide

How to Play Hood Warfare 2 With Friends

Hood Warfare 2 is at its best with a squad — it’s a $5.99 game where getting four friends in costs less than one AAA title. Here’s how lobbies, joining, and private matches work.

Add friends on Steam, launch the game, and join through the in-game friends/lobby system to queue together. For full control, use custom matches: pick map, mode, and match settings, and fill empty slots with bots. Everyone needs the Steam PC version — there’s no crossplay because there’s only one platform.

Queuing with friends

  1. Be Steam friends first. The game uses your Steam identity — add each other on Steam before launching.
  2. Form up in-game. From the main menu, invite or join friends through the lobby/party interface.
  3. Queue into any mode together. All six modes support full parties — objective modes like Hit A Lick get dramatically better with comms.
  4. Use voice chat or Discord. In-game voice exists (and got fixes in patch 1.0.10), but most squads run Discord for reliability.

Private matches with bots

Custom matches are the sleeper feature — a full sandbox for squads and solo players alike:

Playing with friends FAQ

Can I play with friends on different platforms?

No — and there’s no crossplay to configure because Hood Warfare 2 is PC/Steam only. Everyone needs the same $5.99 Steam copy.

How many friends can be in one squad?

Party limits follow the mode’s team sizes — full teams can queue together. For exact per-mode lobby sizes, check the match settings when creating a custom game.

Can we play private matches offline?

Bot-based custom matches work without other players, but you’ll generally want to be online for Steam. Treat the game as online-first with an offline-friendly bot sandbox.

Does progress carry over between friends in custom matches?

Yes — reputation and unlock progress earned in any match, including bot matches, persists to your account via Steam Cloud.
